TRAILER

We have a few trailers that we have purchased. These trailers have helped several families get back on their feet. They are small in size, but are clean and in a location that is quiet and comfortable. Your supports helps us make this happen!

Andy was living in the woods and donating alot of time to help at the pantry. One day someone came in to the pantry. mentioning they needed some help with their business. Andy was there and was hired on the spot! We feel that his time at the pantry was honored by God through a job. Because of that job, Andy is no longer homeless and very happy!

Helping The Homeless!

This is Dave . . he is one of our faithful volunteers. We could always use more volunteers. If you have an hour or so a week and would like to so that hour into good fertile ground . . .please consider volunteering at the West Orange Food Pantry! We Need You!!!!

We also are housing a gentleman who was homeless. He is now off the streets and living in this trailer. He works 7 days a week and also goes to church. The trailer does need a lot of work but due to his work schedule he does not have the time to fix it up. If any of you all would like to help him get the place fixed up . . .please email Ken Artigas at Kjartigas@aol.com and he can put you in touch with him. He could really use the help! We are working at getting his picture.

Lots of things happening at the Food Pantry

I stopped at the West Orange Food Pantry yesterday and I saw many large appliances and pieces of furniture for sale at extremely LOW prices.

Your donated items are sold at a minimal cost . . . the money brought in from the sale of the items goes to pay for food items for the needy.
If you have any household items or appliances that you are not using or do not need anymore. Please keep the WOFP in mind when you are ready to get rid of them. We have free pickup if you are not able to bring them to us.
We also can use baby items . . .carseats, cribs, changing tables, rockers, high chairs etc . . . .
Do you have small appliances that are just taking up space in your kitchen? Think about donating them to the WOFP.
We want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Wal-mart for the corporate donation they made to help feed the poor! If you have a business or corporation and would like to make a tax deductible donation, please email Ken Artigas at KJArtigas@aol.com
On a sidenote, the man standing in the middle is Ron. He was once homeless but is now working full time for the pantry. Also, because of your generous donations we were able to provide housing for him and his wife. I think it is so neat that Ron was able to go to Wal-mart to pickup the check. Imagine where he was a year or so ago . . living in the woods . . . and now he is helping to make a differnce in the lives of others. Thank you for your generous giving that helps change the lives of others!

Donations even come from bike riders!

This is Carol N. She rides her bike from Ocoee to Clermont every week. She always stops by the pantry and give us a $20.00 donation to help those in need. This is one of the ways we were able to raise money for the back to school outreach.....we now have $125.00 to buy supplies for the kids...We could use more cash donations to help pay for the school outreach for all the kids. If you feel led to give . . .please stop by the Food Pantry with your donations or you can send it to the address on the right side of this blog. Thank you for your continued generosity!

What Your Donations Can Do . . . .

Due to all the generous people and business owners who have donated money to the West Orange Food Pantry we were able to purchase a huge semi truck full of pallets of food. The food arrived last week! A big thank you to all the volunteers that came and helped stock shelves! You are all a blessing. For those of you who have not had a chance to volunteer . . . we are always looking for willing vessels who could sow a few hours each week at the pantry. The shelves are now stocked with all kind of food and household items. If you would like to sow into a ministry that is helping the needy and homeless . . .remember the West Orange Food Pantry! Through the generous donations from many . . .we are making a huge difference in the lives of many!
This gentleman who we have named "The Cookie Man" . . .brings cookies once a month to the pantry. What a treat and a blessing! He is getting ready to retire and he is prayerfully considering donating his truck to the pantry. What a HUGE blessing that would be!

Remember, to please bring in any clothing items, furniture, appliances, bedding etc. . . we will proudly take your donations and bless them to families who are in need.
Also, with the start of school closely approaching we are making back to school kits for the needy children in the community. As you purchase your kids supplies or perhaps you don't have children but would like to make a difference in the lives of a child . . the next time you head to Wal-Mart, Target, K-mart or the Dollar Stores . . . purchase some extra supplies for these chidlren. Your generosity will bless others and make the beginning of school easier for these wonderful kids!

Community Cultivator's

The ministry team from Community Cultivator's stopped in at the pantry to share what their ministry does with Ken. This ministry is so neat! They go to the homes of people in need of landscaping up keep and do it FREE of charge. The team wanted to know if Ken knew of anyone who might be in need of their service. Ken mentioned that he knew of a lady who had loss her husband. She attends Sorrento Baptist Church. She was alone with her children and didn't have anyone or the funds to help her with her yard and landscaping. So, they made an appointment to go to the women's home along with a respresentative from her church. Here is part of the Community Cultivator Team along with a Ralph who is an Elder in her church and the women they will be helping. They met at her home so they could take a look at everything that needed to be done. This will be a total blessing to this family.

The team will be there in a few weeks to work wonders to her yard and landscaping! What a blessing!
